Where Paul Stands
Paul Binns is running for mayor because he believes Lehi needs more than management, it needs leadership rooted in transparency, accountability and a deep respect for the people who already call this city home. His campaign isn’t driven by politics. It’s driven by principles.
Smart, Responsible Growth
Paul believes we’ve gone too far, too fast with development. High-density housing has outpaced infrastructure and developers have held more influence than residents. That needs to change.
- Push for growth that respects our resources—especially water—and doesn’t strain what we can’t afford to lose.
- Put the voices of current residents before those of outside developers.
- Require better planning, more foresight and a stronger commitment to preserving what makes Lehi livable.
“We’ve overreached. I believe in development—but only when it’s done with planning, accountability and concern for the people and resources we already have.”
Protecting Our Resources
As Lehi continues to grow, so do the demands on our land, water and infrastructure. Paul believes every development decision should start with a simple question: Can we truly sustain this?
- Put tighter checks on density and its impact on infrastructure.
- Infrastructure planning will be proactive, not reactive.
- Make sure water—not just roads and buildings—is central to every planning conversation.
Transparency and Accessibility
Paul doesn’t believe in backroom politics. City business should happen in public view, with residents invited into the process—not left out of it.
- Public meetings that are open, well-communicated and genuinely shaped by citizen input.
- A mayor who shows up in your neighborhood—not just at City Hall.
- A clear, open line of communication between the city and the people it serves.
“I believe in transparency. I believe in being visible and available. We’ve lost that small but vital connection between City Hall and the people.”
Accountability in Every Dollar and Decision
Not every decision will be popular but it should always be explainable. Paul believes city leadership must be transparent, responsible and willing to stand behind their choices.
- Work with city staff to track spending clearly and share progress with the public.
- Hold himself and others accountable for decisions and how they affect real people.
- Make sure taxpayers know where their money goes and why.
Prioritizing Public Safety
Public safety is not optional, it’s a right. Right now, Lehi is running 33% short on police staffing. That might be sustainable today—but it won’t be tomorrow.
- Work with the leaders of public service departments on staffing shortages.
- Plan ahead—not react late—when it comes to emergency readiness.
- Make sure every part and every citizen of Lehi is protected equally.
Honoring Our Heritage, Building Our Future
Lehi’s strength isn’t just in its growth—it’s in its roots. Paul believes we must preserve our heritage while shaping the future with purpose.
- Protecting our historic neighborhoods and community feel.
- When the time is right to revitalize our downtown, doing so with intention and heart.
- Growing in a way that respects where we’ve come from.
“We live in a wonderful community. Let’s keep it that way.”
Always Within Reach
Paul doesn’t just welcome questions—he encourages them. His campaign is about conversation, not just policy. He believes the best ideas come from listening.
“Please don’t ever think you can’t reach out. I’m here to serve and I mean that sincerely.”
